How Rahu Kalam is calculated
The daylight between sunrise and sunset is divided into eight equal parts; Rahu Kalam, Yamaganda, and Gulika each occupy one part, and which part depends only on the weekday. Because they follow the real sun, the timings differ between cities and drift through the seasons. Tradition asks simply for awareness — if something important must fall in Rahu Kalam, a moment’s patience is all that is usually advised, never anxiety.
