The short version
Sannidhana is a devotional companion. We collect only what the app needs to serve you, we treat your birth details as sensitive personal data under India's DPDP Act, we never sell data, and you can permanently delete everything from Settings at any time.
What we collect, and why
Account: your phone number when you sign in with OTP, or an anonymous account if you continue as a guest. Preferences: language, chosen deity, region, elder-mode, notification choices, and the city you select for panchanga timings — used only to personalize the app. Birth details (sensitive personal data): date, time, and place of birth, and gender, for you and any family members you add — collected only if you use the Jyotishi features, used only to compute astrological charts, and never used for anything else. Japa practice history is stored with your account when signed in, or only on your device as a guest. A device push token is stored if you enable notifications.
What we do NOT collect
No advertising identifiers, no contact lists, no precise GPS location (you type your city), no analytics or tracking events at present. If usage analytics are introduced later, this policy will be updated first and no birth data will ever appear in analytics.
Who processes your data
Supabase hosts our database and files (encrypted at rest; an India data region is planned for launch). When you search for a city or birth place, only the place-name text you type is sent to the Open-Meteo geocoding service — never your identity or birth date. When AI features are active, a compact summary of the relevant chart and your questions are processed by our AI provider (Anthropic); your name and contact details are not included. If paid features are enabled in the future, payments would be processed by Razorpay; currently every feature is free and no payment data exists.
Retention and your rights (DPDP)
Your data stays only while your account exists. You may access and correct your details in the app, and Settings → Delete my account permanently removes every record and file — birth details (including family members), charts, conversations, reports, and preferences. Deletion is immediate in primary storage.
