Moon sign (rashi) calculator
In Jyotisha, your sign is your Moon’s sign — the rashi the Moon occupied at your birth. It’s the sign a panchanga, a daily rashi reading, and a match-making chart all start from.

Moon sign vs. sun sign
Two differences trip people up. First, Jyotisha reads the Moon’s sign where Western astrology reads the Sun’s. Second, Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac (we compute on the Lahiri ayanamsa), which currently sits about 24° behind the Western tropical zodiac — so your rashi is often the sign before your Western sign, and sometimes two. The Moon also moves fast, changing rashi roughly every two and a quarter days, which is why your birth time and place refine the answer.
Once you know your rashi, see today’s reading for it — grounded in the Moon’s real transit, not sun-sign filler.
